Travel Diary to Miami/Hispanicize 2017

Hello loves,

Let’s get this travel diary started that I will never drive from Orlando to Miami again, that drive felt like forever and I did not know Florida had so many tolls. They are like every three miles. I thought I was crossing bridges but no I guess that’s how Florida keeps their roads nice with very little potholes. Anyways, so I went to Florida for a little vacation and Hispanicize, a Latino/a conference for influencers, businesses, journalists and basically anyone interested in the Latino/a market.

My first stop in Miami was finding where the famous Cuban Versailles restaurant was. So I drove through downtown Miami and found this amazing mural and saw other ones that were so colorful and amazing.

This was my first time trying Cuban food and I am so glad I sat down to get the platter of which was a mix of everything. I had to ask the waiter what the white stuff on the bottom left was. It was Yucca. Overall for my first time I loved the tamale, rice, yucca and the plantains omg! So yum!
Also, I had to stop by and get some pastellitos aka empanadas/ pan dulce. These and the guayaba empandas were so delicious!
After I ate so good at Versailles, I wanted to explore Calle Ocho/ Little Havana of which I was excited because I have heard it’s pretty live and a must see.
